Senior faculty members and the college administration recently visited the Israel Antiquities Authority in its new and impressive residence in Jerusalem.
The purpose of the visit was to bring the representatives of these two institutions together and to examine possibilities for future collaborations in research, joint projects and teaching.
The directors of the archaeology and conservation divisions, project leaders, as well as leading positions in computational archeology technologies and academic research participated on behalf of the IAA.
The representatives of the college, which included heads of departments and the administration, conducted a tour of the various conservation laboratories and clinics of the Antiquities Authority, the photography studio and the 3D scanning unit. They also received explanations and demonstrations about the 3D documentation project of the Gaza Kibbutzim, following the October 7 attack.
